So, last December I mailed out my sister's families gifts the day after Christmas. not becaue I was lazy and didn't want to mail them but because my nephew's gift didn't arrive from FAO Schwartz until the day before Christmas Eve. I ordered it at the end of November, it just took ages to get here. Anyway, last Friday I came home and found the same package (read big box) I sent to Montana on my porch all torn up and missing half of the address. The wrapping paper on one of the gifts was so torn that I had to take it off and re-wrap it. :( I got it all packaged up again and went to UPS the same day and shipped it from there. I even got free insurance for it and a tracking number. I will never again mail something through USPS again without a tracking number.
The funny thing is, a long time ago I opened my mail box to find a Christmas card in a plastic sandwhich baggie. It had ben mailed 7 years earlier. How the heck does it take 7 years for a card to travel 40 miles?

wow..and I thought Aus Post was bad LOL!
Once I got a batch of mail that was obviously from a few months back - I could tell by the magazines, they were issues from months ago. I called the Post Office and they said they found some old mail in a bin that was "behind something" and had been forgotten. They told me not to worry, "heads were rolling" over it. Heh. There must be a lot of headless postal employees at this rate, huh? :-)
HOLY COW! I'm just surprised it made it back to you!!
and the 7 yr old card? Amazing.
