My little Wubie went as Alice in Wonderland. Her Mommy; MD, made her the adorable Cheshire Cat bag. That was my Wubie's idea and it turned out so cute.
This is MD as a very quick inexpensive version of The Queen of Hearts. Little Wubie pleaded with her to dress at that and this was what she came up with on her practically money free budget. She is holding little Wubie's bunny; Bob. He is dressed as The White Rabbit. MD made the costume for him complete with a real working clock hanging from his neck.
Then we have MJ. He of course is Indiana Jones. He had been planning on going at Indiana since last December. Since he made up his mind so early; which is so unlike him, I had to do everything I could to be sure he actually had a great costume. He usually leaves me scrambling to make something a couple of days before Halloween.
As you all know, Indiana ALWAYS has his hat...
and he usually has a whip...
and his holster...
and if he has a holster, it shouldn't be empty. K made this for MJ about 5 minutes before I had to leave to get him to the Halloween party he went to. MJ was very distressed that he didn't have a 'gun' to go into his holster. it was going to ruin the evening. I didn't want him carrying a gun in his holster because:
1. I didn't know what the other families attending the party would think
and
2. You just never know who you're going to meet trick or treating and a gun with a kid who would of course have to 'shoot' it could be a potential problem and result in disaser if the wring person got carried away and thought it was real.
So this little sprinkler pipe gun was the perfect thing for him. He could shoot people; which he did, but nobody would ever mistake a sprinkler pipe gun for a real gun. Everything worked out great.
I betcha didn't know that Indiana Jones wears red Keens. ;p Well, when you are MJ, you wear them everyday and they are the ONLY shoes Indiana would wear.
My Indiana Jones has the neatest real Ammunition Bag (read messenger bag like Indiana). I got it from an army navy surplus so it was the real deal. He even put a compass on it from the army navy surplus "because Indiana Jones would have to have a compass if he was out there searching for treasures." Guess my boy hasn't figured out about GPS. The photo was all blurred so it got deleted.
Here they all are. Happy and ready to trick or treat. Well, all except for little Wubie. She's not looking so happy, she's so over the photo takling and ready to trick or treat.
It ended up being a great night for everyone. Little Wubie and her Mommy; MD went trick or treating at little Wubie's other grandparents house, then her Mommy took her to trick or treat with some new little friends.
Little Wubie ended up with a total of 10.1 pounds of candy! Holy Cow!
MJ, went to his Halloween party. They ate pizza and trick or treated. He had never trick or treated with a bunch of kids before and he had a wonderful time. He ended up with over 4 pounds of candy.
The funny thing about having over 14 pounds of candy in our house is that we aren't very big candy eaters. ANY OF US. The kids will eat one or two peices a day, for a week or so and forget about it. MJ might eat one peice every night for desert, but other than that, no chowing down on pounds of candy everyday for this family.
