Today was conference day. Actually all week and next Monday are conference days, but my conferences for Mikey were today. First I had his Speech confrence and annual IEP. Things are going as planned and all looks well. There was one modification made to allow gun chewing during testing. Mikey is so stressed to even hear the word "test" that he clams up. For some reason gum chewing helps. Last week was the Fourth Grade Writing Sample tests. I brought gum for the whole class since I hadn't had it put in his IEP yet. His teacher was happy about it and so were the kids.
Next was the regular conference with Mikey's teacher. All of his grades are fabulous, except reading. He decided not to do his December reading log, even though he read a ton so it effected his grade. Apparently the monthly reading logs are a big part of the reading grade. He saw his report card and said he'll be doing ALL of the reading logs from now on. Yeah!
