I should know better.
Really, I should.
I've done it before.
I always wonder how it happened.
I deleted Windows once.
Not on purpose, I was trying to free up hard drive space.
I didn't realize it was Windows.
I deleted the startup program once.
That one couldn't be fixed. :(
This time, it's bad too.
I didn't ruin the computer, but at least if I had just deleted Windows, I could have recovered it and my photos.
I thought I would clear up some space on the computer.
It wasn't really neccesary, but I was thinkng that the 5000+ photos stored in Picassa, Kodak, Costco photo program and Nikon were too many.
That's four places at 500+ each...heck, 20,000+ photos.
I did ask for help.
Really, I did.
Everybody was too busy.
I did ask if I should do it.
I never really got a good answer.
So I figured what would it hurt?
I put alot of thought into it.
Which program should I delete the folders from?
Well, since the Kodak program is so hard to use and export photos to Picassa to, I decided that was the one to empty.
BIG, HUGE, GINORMOUS MISTAKE.
I didn't know that if I took them all out of Kodak, they would ALL disappear foever out of every program.
I lost all of the photos we've taken since Christmas.
The Christmas photos are gone.
New Years Eve is gone
Our photos from the beach are gone.
The photos I took during the astronomically low tide are gone.
Everything.
I have nothing to scrapbook for the last month now.
There were some really fantastic photos in there.
I am sad, but maybe this time I learned my lesson.
MD is making a sign to post above the computer that says I am NOT permitted to dlete anything more than my own email. EVER.
Sometimes I feel really stupid.
